About

The www.aa.ge web portal was developed by the EU Integration Program of the Open Society Georgia Foundation in cooperation with the Romanian Centre for European Policies and with the financial support of Romania’s Development Aid.

The main goal of the portal is to provide interested persons an opportunity to easily find information on the implementation of responsibilities envisaged by the EU-Georgia Association Agreement.

This portal allows a user to search for a topic by interest, for example: Education, Customs Code, Public Health, Transportation, Environmental Protection, or Veterinary Medicine. It ensures access to the information on the harmonisation of Georgian legislation to European legislative acts according to the field and/or year until 2027. The web portal allows the user to get original versions of directives or regulations, acquire detailed information on requirements, and become acquainted with the process of approximation of Georgian legislation with European standards.

The transparency of the Georgian government and its future processes is of utmost importance. With this portal, a potential user can get information on, for instance, which state agency is responsible for the drafting of a specific legislative act and its current situation. The portal offers articles on the implementation of the requirements of the current year, what specific regulations are comprised of, the current legislation and practice in Georgia, what is intended to be changed, and the potential impact on society.

By Memorandum of Cooperation, the portal was transferred to the Parliament of Georgia on May 25, 2017 and the Parliament is now responsible for its maintenance and updating.

The portal was updated in 2021 with the support of the EU-funded “Facility for the Implementation of the EU-Georgia Association Agreement – II” (AA Facility).
